While attending a MassArt course called Form in Space (advertised as focusing on “… issues central to thought and practice in three-dimensional art and design” and taught by Greg Mencoff), we tried an interesting ideation exercise which explored denying the functions of objects. In this example, I deconstructed a common chair and planted it in a woods as a piece of sculpture. It would be fun to do more public outdoor art although hopefully better than this project 😉
