This was an early piece in a personal series that was motivated by a very prolonged journey through the US immigration system. The piece is a literal reference to depleted emotional energy. It’s made with paper I made from manilla hemp fiber. At the time, I was experimenting with making different types of papers. This piece was made by casting handmade manilla hemp fiber paper. The mold was made out of sealed cast plaster.
