This was an early piece in a personal series that was motivated by a very prolonged journey through the US immigration system. To make this piece, I had a friend help with covering my face in plaster cloth to make a cast of it. This creation process felt suffocating like the immigration process, which often left a feeling of being very trapped and punished.
