About

This is an early piece in a personal series motivated by a very prolonged journey through the US immigration system. This piece depicts the sense of confusion and surreality I was experiencing at the time. A black and white negative of a long-exposure self-portrait was overlaid with a color slide of clouds. This sandwich of films was then used to expose a color Polaroid film. While the film was still developing, it was transferred to a piece of stretched elastane (Lycra). It’s a finicky process to get right.
